With fields of amber grass and purple heather beneath the odd blue sky, a roadtrip through the Scottish Highlands was the perfect remedy after a hectic month of too many sleepless nights and more hours spent getting caught in the rain than we would have liked.
We hiked through the countryside, sipped on delectable cocktails, picnicked beneath trees by the lake and passed by more castles and ruins than we dreamed imaginable.
The untamed beauty and untouched wildness of the Scottish Highlands was something we didn’t expect to love quite so much. Though with never a reason to rush, the days quickly melted away and our brief romance with Scotland was over far too soon.
We had planned to switch off and use this time only to enjoy and recuperate, but with a countryside this beautiful, as it turned out our cameras were never far from reach.
